And now, for a song...

That's right, it's time to try something new, so here we are: audioblogging! Just click on the "play" button and you'll hear my first attempt.

Note: if you're accessing this page from a wireless internet connection, it might not play so smoothly. If you've got DSL or cable internet that's not wireless, you should have no trouble listening to the song.

Anyway, give it a try and let me know how it comes out on your end. :)

First attempt no go. I clicked on PLAY and the whole thing disappeared.
Will try again later.

Thanks for the first try, Nina. I´ve tested this audioblog from a home internet connection and an internet cafe, and it worked fine both times, but...

I just tested it from a university connection, and the firewall is definitely getting in the way... this l'il ditty may be accessible only to home users. (which raises the question... how useful is an institution's firewall if it interferes with now-mainstream technologies like audioblogging?!)

Anyway, I hope others of you will describe your success/defeat with this venture... I'm very interested to know whether you were able to play the song from school, work, home, etc, and whether it played smoothly. Think of yourselves as contributing to my Fulbright work!

I don't see any "play" button. There is just a white box with a red line in it. Any tips?

p.s. I just clicked on the link to Castpost (since it says "Powered by Castpost".) I can't go to that website, it is blocked by Qtel (the national phone service monopoly here in Qatar). Maybe that's why I don't see a play button....

I can't make it work either. I see 4 buttons none labled, a "speaker" and a elapsed time, none of which do anything when I click. Que lastima.

Sorry Karen, it doesn't work for me either. I hit the play button and nothing happens. It's good to know that some people can get it to work. I was so excited about the possibility so I hope we can get it to work. Sue

Well, thanks for being good sports about it, all of you... it seems it´s really hit and miss as far as success goes. I need to learn more, clearly!

I can click "play" and the window says something is loading, but then it reads "done" and there was no sound (from AU).

Oh wait! Many minutes later I started getting blips of sound. It's coming through a second or three at a time, but it IS coming though!

I've been singing that song to Xan, but not nearly so well! Great to hear you -

It almost works. Sounds like there's a whole lot of buffering.
Even cracked your last high note.
Ratz.

Okay, now it is doing something, as I was reading the comments it started to load, it is very sporadic, so it may be my DSL via Telmex. it broadcasts for about 3 seconds and then is silent for about 6 seconds.

Beautiful Karen! I loved your interpretation. Rod tells me that when you return, you're intereted in doing some stuff with us. That would be great. I think we blend well, and Rod and I have been working on some really nice songs. I'll sing them for you when I visit.
